Eyesaline Solution or Eyesaline Concentrate mixed with tap water may not
be suitable for use with certain eyewash devices. Eyewash devices containing
metal parts may corrode when in contact with a saline solution.
Recommendation: For best results, mix concentrate with warm
filtered water.
Although the use of Eyesaline or other additives will inhibit
bacterial growth, NO preservative can safely prevent build-up over an
extended period of time. All eye wash devices containing Eyesaline or other
solution additives should be cleaned and refilled at least once every three
to six months. Failure to replace the flushing solution within the
recommended time can result in unsafe bacterial levels. Self-contained eye
washes containing water must be cleaned and refilled weekly.
Personal Eyewash Products
Maintaining sterility over the life of a product relies, in part, on the
integrity of the container seal. Components of the container, such as
bottles, caps and seals, must be designed and manufactured to close
tolerances if the integrity of the product in the container is to be
maintained. This is particularly necessary in industrial settings with a
wide range of environmental conditions. Personal emergency eyewash products
currently available in the industrial first aid and safety market are
manufactured using conventional clean room fill processes and separate
components.
Containers, caps and seals may be manufactured from different materials and
supplied by multiple vendors.
In the blow-fill-seal process, the plastic containers are sequentially blow
molded, filled, and hermetically sealed in a continuous operation in a
controlled environment. This process ensures seal integrity and eyewash
solution quality.
Manufactured by the blow-fill-seal process. This process provides greater
assurance of product integrity in single-use containers
-
Sterile, buffered, isotonic, saline solution
-
Single-use products
-
Twist-off tabs – no seals to remove, no leaking caps. Twist-off tab top is
tamper resistant, yet easily removed in an emergency
-
Absence of the twist-off tab top provides highly visible notification that
product has been used or tampered with.
-
All containers manufactured from FDA grade polyethylene.
-
32 oz. bottle has reduced diameter and integral gripping surfaces for
easier handling in an emergency.
-
16 oz. and 32 oz. containers have nozzles that provide extended flow
(compared to conventional 16 and 32 oz. containers)
-
1 oz., 4 oz., and 8 oz. products deliver drops of solution or an
irrigating stream, depending on the squeeze pressure applied to the
bottle.
